Loved by the bees for their profuse and early yellow flowers, the oregon grape is a tough and useful evergreen shrub.

Perfect for deep shade, oregon grapes will put up with almost anything but water logging and eventually spread by suckers to form a good groundcover under trees etc. They are generally trouble free and easily produce clusters of bloomy dark blue berries through the summer that cook well and are similar to blackcurrants in taste and use.

Much used in USA, as the name would suggest.
