The green strawberry makes a brilliant groundcover almost anywhere.
A European native plant, the green strawberry
is similar to the beach but with larger leaves, a more vigorous habit but can be shy to fruit.
A very determined plant that will cover any ground anywhere, it is handsome and evergreen with dark, shiny leaves and masses of white flowers in the spring. Although tricky, hunting for the berries under the leaves throughout July is well worth the effort as they are translucent orange, extremely sweet and juicy.
